Roof Extension / South Island School

The John Wray Atrium, Hong Kong, located at the roof top of South Island School. It is an added structure over the existing assembly hall of the school. Composed of a steel roof and window walls, this steel structure created a new multi-functional space to one of the outstanding international secondary schools in the city. The structure is oriented to take full advantage of the surrounding green mountain views. Full height glass walls, skylights and glass balustrades are provided to maximize natural lighting. Operable glass partitions and sliding doors enable cross ventilation and unobstructed views of the hilly landscape.
