Enabling Spaces / Jockey Club Sarah Roe School

Completion: 2007

Embodying the principles of Accessible Design, the changing room of the hydrotherapy pool facility is transformed into fully accessible space for users with special needs. The addition of lifting [host] device made assisted transfer from the hydrotherapy pool to the changing room possible. A large staff pantry is modified into a fully accessible and educational kitchen for students with physical disabilities at the Sarah Roe School. The kitchen is furnished with adjustable cooking countertop, enabling students on wheelchairs to access sinks and electrical appliances with ease.
This project was done in association with Environmental Advisory Service of Rehabaid Society.
